Gemini CLI

Gemini CLI uses Filestar through the MCP server that comes with the Filestar CLI (filestarcli mcp).

Add it

filestarcli agent install --agent gemini-cli

Or add it by hand to Gemini CLI's user settings, keeping what is already there:

If Gemini CLI cannot start the server, use the full path to the CLI as command, or "command": "npx" with "args": ["-y", "filestar", "mcp"].

Check it

Start Gemini CLI again (it reads settings when it starts) and run /mcp: filestar should be listed with its tools. Then ask:

Turn these WAV recordings into MP3.

Remove it

filestarcli agent uninstall --agent gemini-cli
