GitHub Copilot CLI

GitHub Copilot CLI uses Filestar through the MCP server that comes with the Filestar CLI (filestarcli mcp).

Add it

filestarcli agent install --agent copilot-cli

Or add it by hand to Copilot CLI's MCP file, keeping any servers that are already there:

You can also add it from inside Copilot CLI with /mcp add.

If Copilot CLI cannot start the server, use the full path to the CLI as command, or "command": "npx" with "args": ["-y", "filestar", "mcp"].

Check it

Start a new Copilot CLI session and run /mcp show: filestar should be listed. Then ask:

Convert report.docx to PDF.

Remove it

filestarcli agent uninstall --agent copilot-cli
