- UFO3 (Unified Font Object 3) is a file type used for storing font data. It is a cross-platform, open source format that is used to store vector glyphs, font metrics, kerning data, and other related information. UFO3 is the most recent version of the UFO format, and is the standard for font interchange between applications.
- SFD (Spline Font Database) is the native, text-based source format of the FontForge font editor. It stores a font's glyph outlines, metrics, kerning, OpenType tables and editing state, so a font can be reopened and edited losslessly and then exported to TrueType, OpenType, WOFF or Type 1.
