- Description
- Smacker Video (.smk) is a video file format developed for use in video games, designed to deliver synchronized audio and video with efficient compression on low-end hardware. It was especially popular in the 1990s and early 2000s for cutscenes and in-game full-motion video. The format supports multiple audio tracks and palette-based video compression optimized for CPU playback without dedicated hardware acceleration.
- Digital audio format based on Apple's Core Audio technology; stores audio data as well as text annotations, markers, channel layouts, and other information; similar to an .AIFF or .WAVE file, but does not have a 4GB size limit and can store any number of audio channels.
