- Created by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), SIXEL is a bitmap image format in an escaped sequence (seen as six pixels high and one pixel wide). You have to convert it into a more accessible format if you don’t have a DEC terminal to view it.
- Based on HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding), the HEIF format is an image file container with one or multiple images and is the default image format for Apple Live Photos. It replaced the JPEG format as it's smaller in size and has lossless compression ensuring high-quality photos.
