Let your AI agent convert SITX to GZIP
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents can do this on your computer with Filestar. Your files stay on your machine. It works on macOS only.
Install Filestar and add it to your agents:
npm install -g filestar
filestarcli agent install
Then ask your agent:
“Convert the SITX files in my Downloads folder to GZIP”
Or run it yourself:
filestarcli -i file.sitx -c "convert to gzip"
Runs on your computer, so your files stay on it. Works on macOS. 50 free conversions with the npm install, no account needed.
Can my AI agent convert SITX to GZIP?
Yes. Install the Filestar CLI with npm install -g filestar and your agent can run filestarcli -i file.sitx -c "convert to gzip" on your computer, so your files stay on it.
StuffIt X Archive (.sitx) is a compressed archive format introduced in 2002 as the successor to the classic StuffIt (.sit) format. It offers stronger compression than the original format and adds encryption, error correction, and self-checking features, while preserving Mac-specific data such as resource forks. It has been widely used on classic Mac OS and macOS for bundling and distributing files.
A compressed file format associated with GNU Zip (Gzip) that uses the DEFLATE compression algorithm, a combination of both the Huffman coding and the Lempel-Ziv (LZ77) codec.
