Description
id RoQ is a proprietary video (and audio) container format developed for use in video games. It uses a custom codec combining vector quantization for video and a simple compression scheme for audio, designed for fast decoding on limited hardware. It was used in several id Software games such as Quake III Arena and Return to Castle Wolfenstein to play full-motion video cutscenes.
A JPS file stores two images taken from different angles. It is used to make a 3D effect from 2D images.
