Description
PTS is a plain-text file format used to store 3D point cloud data captured by laser scanners, typically containing X, Y, Z coordinates along with optional intensity and RGB color values for each point. It is commonly used in surveying, architecture, and engineering workflows to exchange point cloud data between scanning hardware and 3D modeling or CAD software.
LAS (LASer) is a binary file format for storing 3D LiDAR point cloud data, including coordinates, intensity, classification, and other attributes captured by laser scanning systems. It is widely used in surveying, geospatial analysis, forestry, and topographic mapping to exchange and archive aerial or terrestrial LiDAR data.
