- Description
- The PR file type, associated with Sun Icon/Cursor, refers to a specific format used to store icons and cursor images on systems that supported Sun Microsystems' graphical environments. These files typically contain bitmap images designed for use as graphical user interface elements, such as icons for applications or interactive cursors for mouse pointers. The format is tailored to the needs of Sun's software and hardware platforms, which were prevalent in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in academic, engineering, and enterprise environments. Despite its historical significance, the PR file format is less commonly used today, given the evolution of computing technology and graphical standards.
- An image file format mainly used in storing cell phone photos and they are saved in the High Efficiency Image Format (HEIF). They store one or more images and the metadata description for each image. Also known as .heif files
