- Native format of the Krita painting program, developed by the Krita Foundation.
- Description
- The PP5 file type is associated with Micrografx Picture Publisher version 5.0, a graphic editing software that was popular in the late 1990s for its advanced image manipulation and graphic design capabilities. PP5 files contain bitmap images created or edited within the program, supporting various layers, effects, and other graphic elements specific to Picture Publisher. As a proprietary format of Micrografx Picture Publisher, PP5 files are best opened or edited with versions of Picture Publisher software, although they may also be compatible with certain other graphic editing tools that can import or convert this file type. With the acquisition of Micrografx by Corel and the eventual discontinuation of Picture Publisher, the PP5 format has become less common but may still be encountered in archives or projects requiring legacy support.
- Image file saved by the Krita painting program. A Krita file is a zip archive holding the full layer stack: each layer's pixel data as compressed tiles, its name, position, opacity, blending mode and visibility, plus a merged preview of the whole image.
