- The PI2 file type is associated with Degas and Degas Elite, which are image editors and painting programs developed for the Atari ST series of computers in the 1980s. These files contain bitmap graphics created or edited within the Degas or Degas Elite software, supporting various resolutions and color palettes available on the Atari ST. The PI2 format is specifically used to denote images saved in a medium resolution of 640x200 pixels with 4 colors. While now considered obsolete, the PI2 and its associated software were popular among Atari users for creating digital art and illustrations.
