Description
PCD (Point Cloud Data) is the native file format used by the Point Cloud Library (PCL) to store 2D and 3D point cloud data, including coordinates, color, normals, and other point attributes. It supports both ASCII and binary encoding and is widely used in robotics, computer vision, and 3D scanning applications for processing and exchanging point cloud datasets.
LAS (LASer) is a binary file format for storing 3D LiDAR point cloud data, including coordinates, intensity, classification, and other attributes captured by laser scanning systems. It is widely used in surveying, geospatial analysis, forestry, and topographic mapping to exchange and archive aerial or terrestrial LiDAR data.
