  1. Download and install the latest version of Filestar.

  2. Right click on one or more Pam file(s) on your desktop and select Convert with Filestar.

  3. Type convert to g3 in the search box.

  4. Press Convert.

The PAM image format is a lowest common denominator 2 dimensional map format. It is designed to be used for any of myriad kinds of graphics, but can theoretically be used for any kind of data that is arranged as a two dimensional rectangular array.
Fax image created in the CCITT Group 3 compressed format, which is used for digital transmission of fax data and supports 1 bit per pixel; can be viewed by programs such as GIMP and IrfanView.
