- An MD file is a text file created using one of several possible dialects of the Markdown language. It is saved in plain text format but includes inline text symbols that define how to format the text (e.g., bold, indentations, headers, table formatting). MD files are designed for authoring plain text documentation that can be easily converted to HTML.
- ICML (Adobe InCopy Markup Language) is an XML-based file format used to exchange document content and formatting between Adobe InDesign and InCopy. It preserves text, styles, and layout information so that writers and editors using InCopy can work on content linked to an InDesign layout. It is commonly used in publishing workflows for collaborative editing of page layouts.
