- A MAT-file holds the variables saved from a MATLAB session: numeric arrays such as matrices and images, text, cell arrays and structs. Files saved with -v7.3 are HDF5 files behind a MATLAB header. Unity and Unreal material files use the .mat extension too, but they are a different format.
- Ani files are Windows Animated Cursor files that are used for displaying custom animated mouse cursors in the Windows operating system. They are similar to animated GIFs and can be created with various image editing programs.
