- Native format of the Krita painting program, developed by the Krita Foundation.
- Description
- The GG file type is associated with Koala Paint, a graphics program specifically designed for use on early home computers. It represents a compressed format used to store images created or edited within the Koala Paint software. This format allows for efficient storage by reducing the file size, making it easier to manage and share graphical data on systems with limited storage capacity. The GG extension is primarily recognized and used by vintage computing enthusiasts who engage in the preservation or emulation of classic computer systems and their software.
- Image file saved by the Krita painting program. A Krita file is a zip archive holding the full layer stack: each layer's pixel data as compressed tiles, its name, position, opacity, blending mode and visibility, plus a merged preview of the whole image.
