- Distribution Format Exchange Profile (DFXP) is the original profile of the W3C Timed Text Markup Language, an XML subtitle format that stores caption text with its timing and styling. It is widely used by streaming services and video players such as Netflix and Flash.
- JACOsub is a plain-text subtitle format from the JACOsub editor. Each line holds a start and end time, a directive and the text, and # lines set options such as the time resolution.
