Texinfo is a markup language and file format used to produce both online documentation and printed manuals from a single source file. It is the official documentation format of the GNU Project, allowing output to formats like HTML, PDF, and Info. The .texi extension marks source files written in this markup before processing by the texinfo toolchain.
