Description
A CFF file is a bare Compact Font Format font program, the compact form of an Adobe PostScript Type 1 or CID-keyed font that uses Type 2 charstrings. It is the same data an OpenType font stores in its 'CFF ' table, without the surrounding OpenType wrapper, so it is usually extracted from or embedded into OTF fonts and PDF files.
Mainly used on Unix systems, AFM (Adobe Font Metric) files store font general font data and metrics.
