Filestar on older versions of Windows and macOS
What is changing
New versions of Filestar need Windows 10 (version 1607) or later, or macOS 12 Monterey or later.
That is because they are built on a newer version of Microsoft .NET, which no longer supports older systems: Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1, Windows 10 before version 1607, macOS 10.15 Catalina and macOS 11 Big Sur.
What it means for you
- The version of Filestar you have keeps working.
- Your licence and your subscription keep working too.
- You keep getting plugin updates, for now.
- You just won't get new versions of the app itself.
How to check your version
- Windows: press the Windows key, type
winverand press Enter. The window that opens shows your Windows version. - Mac: open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac.
Downloads for older systems
Filestar 28.6 is the last version that runs on older systems. If you need to install Filestar again, use these installers.
