- Description
- A MAT-file holds the variables saved from a MATLAB session: numeric arrays such as matrices and images, text, cell arrays and structs. Files saved with -v7.3 are HDF5 files behind a MATLAB header. Unity and Unreal material files use the .mat extension too, but they are a different format.
- It can be likened to a .cbr file but it uses .zip compression not .rar like in CBR file. It is a comic book zip file format with several images (in different or the same format) arranged in pages.
