- The WTV (Windows Recorded TV Show) file format is used by Microsoft's Windows Media Center to store TV recordings. Introduced with Windows 7 as a successor to the earlier DVR-MS format used by Windows XP Media Center Edition, WTV files allow users to record live television broadcasts or schedule recordings directly through their computers equipped with a compatible TV tuner card. These files encapsulate both the video and audio streams, along with metadata such as broadcast information and closed captions.
- A PCT file is an image saved in the Macintosh PICT format, which was developed by Apple in 1984 for storing images using Apple QuickDraw technology. It contains image data in one of two formats, PICT 1, the original format that stores 8 colors, or PICT 2, a newer format that allows thousands of colors (24 and 32-bit images). PCT files support both raster and vector images.
