Un fichier DCM est un fichier image enregistré au format Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM). Il contient une image médicale, comme un scanner ou une échographie. Les fichiers DCM peuvent également inclure des informations sur le patient afin d’associer l’image à celui-ci.
Un fichier PGM est un fichier image en niveaux de gris enregistré au format portable gray map (PGM) et encodé avec un ou deux octets (8 ou 16 bits) par pixel. Il contient des informations d’en-tête et une grille de nombres représentant différentes nuances de gris, du noir (0) au blanc (jusqu’à 65 536). Les fichiers PGM sont généralement stockés au format texte ASCII, mais possèdent également une représentation binaire.
