- SFD (Spline Font Database) is the native, text-based source format of the FontForge font editor. It stores a font's glyph outlines, metrics, kerning, OpenType tables and editing state, so a font can be reopened and edited losslessly and then exported to TrueType, OpenType, WOFF or Type 1.
- PostScript Type 3 consiste em glifos definidos usando a linguagem PostScript completa, em vez de apenas um subconjunto. Por isso, uma fonte Type 3 pode fazer algumas coisas que as fontes Type 1 não conseguem, como especificar sombreamento, cores e padrões de preenchimento.
