Digital Speech Standard (DSS) es un formato propietario de archivo de audio digital comprimido definido por International Voice Association, una iniciativa conjunta de Olympus, Philips y Grundig. DSS fue desarrollado originalmente en 1994 por Grundig junto con la Universidad de Núremberg. En 1997 se publicó el estándar de voz digital, basado en el códec anterior. Se utiliza habitualmente en grabadoras digitales de dictado. Los códecs psicoacústicos modernos, que ofrecen un rendimiento casi igual con tasas de bits solo ligeramente superiores, han hecho que este estándar de codificación de voz se utilice menos en los equipos modernos de grabación de voz.
Creado principalmente para Python, RST es un archivo de texto que utiliza el lenguaje de marcado reStructuredText para incluir documentación dentro del código de los programas. También se puede utilizar para crear documentos independientes y páginas web sencillas.
