- An EXP file is an embroidery CAM (computer aided manufacturing) file saved in the Melco EXP format. It contains codes that tell the needle of a commercial sewing machine how to create an embroidery. EXP files may also be saved in the Bernina USB EXP format, which is used for embroideries made by personal sewing machines.
- Image format that uses JPEG 2000 advanced wavelet compression; supports color depths of 8, 24, and 32 bits per pixel; also supports grayscale, RGB, YCbCr, XYZ, and Lab color spaces.
